COVID-19 UPDATE: We have continued to run courses and charters, and have implemented procedures to ensure the safety of our students & staff. We have small group sizes and thorough gear sanitizing, all while distancing and wearing masks.

DIVE CHARTERS

Discovery Passage is home to some of the best cold-water diving in the world!

Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, we are running charters for locals only and at reduced numbers. Get in touch for our upcoming charters schedule.

If you're not from Campbell River, check back when the restrictions lift and we will get you out diving safely!

WHERE WE DIVE

Our favourite dive sites are in Discovery Passage, the body of water between Campbell River and Quadra Island.

There is a dive in Discovery Passage for every level of diver. Whether you want easier or more advanced sites, wrecks, walls, or a gently sloping bottom, our team can make it happen.

Our boats are docked at the Fisherman's Wharf in Campbell River, making these world-class dive sites no more than 30 minutes away.

SCHEDULE

Whether you are coming alone or with a group, we offer a variety of charters to dive sites around Campbell River and Quadra Island.

Because we have to time our dives with the tides and currents, the schedule varies from day to day.

We can accommodate up to 10 divers, and can provide a divemaster upon request.

If you'd like to schedule a charter on dates we don't have any booked, get in touch!

SEE CALENDAR

CONDITIONS

In the winter, we regularly have 30m/100ft visibility! In the summer, plankton blooms can cause visibility can drop to 10m/32ft.

The water temperature stays around 8 - 12 degrees year round.

The currents in Discovery Passage are a serious consideration on all of our courses and trips. The majority of diving we do here is drift diving with a live boat, where the boat drops you off at a certain point at the site, you drift with the current, and the boat picks you up where you surface.

If you've never been drift diving before, we are more than happy to provide a divemaster!

MARINE LIFE

The marine life around Campbell River is vibrant and colourful, with walls of soft corals, sponges, and anemones. We often find schools and perch and rockfish, lingcod, nudibranchs, and in the summer the bull kelp grows in dense forests. On the surface, you may spot humpback whales, orcas, sealions, and harbour seals.

If you're lucky, you'll get to see our favourite animals such as Grunt Sculpins, Wolfeels, Giant Pacific Octopus, and Spiny Pacific Lumpsuckers!

If you have a camera setup, our boats are well equipped with storage and camera tanks.
