PADI RESCUE DIVER
The Rescue Diver course, while a great deal of fun, will challenge you to be the best diver you can be.
You will learn techniques to avoid and manage problems both on the surface and underwater.
Not only will you be a better buddy, but you will become much more confident in your abilities as a diver.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
Over class and pool sessions, you will learn what signs to look for and how to respond during an emergency. In-water scenarios will teach you:
- Self rescue
- Recognizing and managing stress - in other divers
- Emergency management and equipment
- Rescuing panicked divers
- Rescuing unresponsive divers
WHERE YOU WILL DIVE
After your class and pool sessions, you will take to the open water for one day to put you skills to the test.
You will dive at McIvor Lake, Argonaut Wharf, or off our boat Ocean Guardian at sites around Campbell River and Quadra Island such as Lone Tree Island, Row and be Damned, Argonaut Wharf, Grouse Island, or Octopus' Garden.
You will practice rescue and search & recovery skills in an open water environment.
The PADI Emergency First Reponse course meets the requirement for CPR and First Aid training (required for the PADI Rescue Course, as well as for all professional-level ratings).
The EFR Course is based on internationally recognised medical guidelines for emergency care. Learn simple-to-follow steps for emergency care and practice applying skills in a non stressful learning environment.
