DESCRIPTION

Once you sign up for the course, your instructor will be in touch!

If the scheduled dates don't work for you, please get in touch and we are more than happy to schedule another date with you!

Knowledge Development: all course theory is completed online at your own pace through PADI eLearning. A Quick Review is done with an instructor before the confined water sessions.

Confined Water: 5 confined water modules to learn basic skills. This is normally completed over 2-4 pool sessions. Pool session dates vary with each course, so check our calendar for the dates.

Ocean Dives: 4 boat dives in Discovery Passage off of our boat "Ocean Guardian". Use your skills learned in the pool while exploring local dive sites! Ocean Dives are normally run on Saturday and Sunday during the posted dates (all day, meet time varies, depending on tides & weather).

This course will have a minimum of 3 students and a maximum of 4 per instructor. If you would like a private course for 1 or 2 people, please get in touch!

Maximum certification depth: 18m/60ft

PREREQUISITES

Minimum Age: 10 years old

Water Skills: each student must complete a 200 metre/yard swim and a 10 minute tread or float. Any method may be used to complete the water skills.

Medical: each student must complete a PADI medical form specifically for scuba diving. Click to view the PADI medical statement

DRYSUIT SPECIALTY ADD-ON: $150

The water temperatures in Campbell River range from 6 - 12 degrees Celsius. In the winter months (October-June), we recommend every student dives drysuit for their ocean dives for added warmth and comfort. You will do your second pool session and all ocean dives in a drysuit, and we add on another ocean dive on the last day!

In the summer months (July-September), students can dive 7mm John/Jacket wetsuits.

GEAR

We provide all gear during the course at no extra cost.

During your course, you will learn to use basic scuba gear such as: BCD (buoyancy control device), regulator, tanks, weight systems, dive computers, and wetsuit or drysuit.

We do recommend investing in the following gear during or after your course:
Mask, snorkel, fins, boots, gloves, hood, and dive computer. These items have a specific fit to each diver, and having your own will make your experience more enjoyable and familiar.

We offer 15% off any gear purchases before or during your course.
