Ruedi started driving boats on the Rhein in Switzerland when he was very young. His Swiss military service brought more dive training and boat driving experience, followed by several years of commercial diving and big ship driving.

Big sailing ships became his favourites. This resulted in the B ship driving certificate to captain a 90 ton stay sail schooner.

In Canada he volunteered to dive with the coastguard. He completed his commercial  Pilot and engineers license for all aircraft on wheels and floats. He worked as a commercial pilot and engineer for many years in Canada, Ruedi did volunteer diving and driving for the Campbell River Coast Guard Auxiliary. He completed the captains license required in Canada to drive dive boats and has gained extensive knowledge of local dive sites. Ruedi also has many years of instructing experience.
