Historic Shipwrecks of British Columbia with Jacques Marc from the Underwater Archeological Society of BC (UASBC)

Thursday, April 9 @ 6 pm

With a BBQ

The waters of British Columbia abound with sunken archeological sites. Thousands of ships have sunk off our coast, planes have crashed into the water & thousands of years of First Nations history lies in the water off old village sites.

Jacques will walk you through the exploration activities of the UASBC & share some of their experiences & discoveries. He’ll also take you on a tour of several wrecks lost along the central & northeast coast of Vancouver Island.

An all-volunteer organization of the UASBC, conducts expeditions to search for sites, provides Underwater Archaeology Training to prepare divers for U/W work, publishes a newsletter to share their experiences & holds monthly meetings to inform members & guests about their upcoming activities.
