PADI Advanced Open Water
Fine-tune your skills and become a more comfortable and confident diver
You don't have to be an "advanced diver" to take this course.
You can enrol immediately after taking your PADI Open Water course, regardless of your skill level.
The course helps you build confidence in navigation, fine-tune buoyancy skills and introduces you to different diving activities such as wreck diving, night diving, and deep diving.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
Over two days, you'll compete five ocean dives around Campbell River and Quadra Island, and you will advance your skills as a diver.
Learn to master your buoyancy, navigation, and finning techniques, all while exploring different diving activities such as night diving, deep diving, wreck diving, and fish identification.
Maximum certification depth: 30m/100ft
WHERE YOU WILL DIVE
All five ocean dives will be off our luxury dive vessel Ocean Guardian at world-class dive sites around Campbell River and Quadra Island. Getting in and out of the water has never been easier... our boat has a lift! Warm up between dives with hot chocolate in the heated cabin - that also has a washroom!
You will dive at sites such as Lone Tree Island, Row and be Damned, Grouse Island, Argonaut Wharf, Octopus' Garden, and even the HCMS Columbia.
WHAT YOU WILL SEE
The marine life around Campbell River is vibrant and colourful, with walls of soft corals, sponges, and anemones. We often find schools and perch and rockfish, lingcod, nudibranchs, and in the summer the bull kelp grows in dense forests. On the surface, you may spot humpback whales, orcas, sealions, and harbour seals.
On your night dive, you may get to see bioluminescence that makes the water glow blue, or even a Giant Pacific Octopus out for a late-night snack!
